
Betty Rickard is a passionate storyteller. She invites her audience of listeners and readers to see life from a childlike perspective of wonder at the incredible world of God’s creation all around her. For twenty-six years, her venue was the classroom. She holds a bachelor of science in Human Development, a masters of science in Special Education, and has also received National Teacher Board Certification.
Since her retirement from teaching, she has continued to serve and encourage others as a Certified Health Coach, helping men and women to achieve vibrant health. Even as a senior, she still participates in various athletic events and fundraisers. As an enthusiastic life long learner, she has begun to study the language of her ancestors, Norwegian, She loves to read, travel, cook and go for long walks with her little white Westie, named Dooley.
She and her husband, Rob, have been married for fifty-three years. They are active members of Rolling Hills Community Church where they have served for over thirty years. They are parents of four sons, and have three delightful daughters-in-law and four energetic grandchildren, who call her “Grammi.”
